This involves applying a cannula to the patient through which the anesthesiologist administers certain substances with a relaxation role. Local anesthesia is also performed during the intervention once or several times as necessary to ensure a pain-free intervention. \n

What substances does the serum contain that rid patients of fear and pain?<\/h2>\nThe substance that is administered contains midazolam, propofol and fentanyl. Midazolam<\/strong> is a short-acting hypnotic that results in amnesia, drowsiness, or even sleep. It also produces relaxation, reducing anxiety and muscle tension. \n\nPropofol<\/strong> belongs to a group of medications called general anesthetics. It is used to induce sleep during an intervention for medical operations to be performed safely. \n\nFentanyl<\/strong> belongs to a group of powerful drugs called opioids. It aims to relieve severe and persistent pain, which can only be relieved with strong opioid analgesics. \n

What does a patient feel after being administered Conscious Sedation?<\/h2>\nFirst of all, the patient no longer feels fear, emotions and is no longer scared of what is happening. The effect comes gradually, so many times patients have said that they were speaking coherently and suddenly they don’t remember very well what happened. The substances specific to the procedure make the patient fall asleep in places, sometimes more deeply, sometimes more superficially. Many times, the patient does not have to fall completely asleep to ensure communication with the medical team and to be able to keep his mouth open throughout the intervention. \n\nThe absence of pain is not guaranteed by Conscious Sedation but by local anesthesia, which ensures a painless intervention. It can be administered several times as needed. Together with the Conscious Sedation procedure, the patient not only has no pain, but also does not feel emotions or fear throughout the intervention. Many of the patients stated that they knew that work was being done around them, they heard everything, but they did not feel any pain or fear. \n\nIt is very important in interventions and ensures the normal conduct of a procedure in which the patient is relaxed and can be safely worked with. Being conscious, patients are often told to open their mouths, and they hear and are aware of what they are being told. \n
